FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) is done to give brief explanations to your questions with our knowledge more than 20 years.
PROJECT
Do you make the statical calculations yourself ?
Fiberton performs static calculations of its own products by itself. However, the business owner has to make a general static load calculation including the other products on the facade.
On what stage should the installation of this product be made and what should be the order if we consider other products on the facade ?
It should be immediately after the concrete and before the other façade and joinery applications. The ideal method is to install according to the work program to be prepared under the coordination of the business owner.
How does the bidding process begin ?
For a healthy bid process, the CAD project of the work must be received absolutely complete. Photographs and other information of the region where the application will be made are essential along with the projects.
Do you solve the project details yourself? Could you explain the process ?
All kinds of implementation projects of the contracted projects are prepared by our technical office. The prepared application projects are submitted for the approval of the business owner. After approval, production starts. The projects approved by the employer are conclusive and binding for both sides.
Can any change be made to the quantity takeoff at the end of the project after it has already been calculated ?
Quantities generated during the bid and contract are predicted. The final quantity takeoff will be clarified with the implementation projects to be prepared after the contract. The quantities basis for progress payment are the ones generated with implementation projects.
Do you calculate the quantities yourself while bidding ?
If the available abstracts are shared, a quick bid can be prepared. If this is not the case, we will ourselves calculate the quantities according to the projects sent.
PRODUCTION
Is it possible to produce with different textures and forms ?
GRC Precasts can be produced in every shape and form thanks to the fibers used as reinforcement. It is one of the most distinctive features of GRC. There are numerous patterns and forms in the company’s archives. In addition, by considering the project requirements, designers and sculptors working in the company can design desired patterns and forms.
What are the maximum and minimum production dimensions of GRC Precasts ?
GRC Precasts are flexible and non-cracking due to the fibers used as reinforcement. Although it is produced one piece of 25 m2 in Fiberton facilities, our common production dimensions cannot be more than 2.5 m due to the highway clearance limits, considering the deflection performance of the natural material GRC and transport limits. The length of the other part is about an average of 3.2 m, also considering the concrete floor height. However, different sizes can be produced.
Are GRC precasts produced heat insulated ?
GRC precasts can be produced heat insulated. Fiberton heat insulated facade Panels GRC shell is finished by applying stone wool, which is reinforced with fixing apparatus depending on the application area and project requirements. The heat-insulated facade panels which become composite in this way are in A1 non-flammability class.
ASSEMBLY
How are GRC Precasts mounted on the building ?
The team of architects, engineers, designers, technicians working in the company’s technical office evaluates the whole process.
Starting from modeling to mold, and production to assembly, and projects prepared according to the project requirements are shared with the relevant departments and the whole process is shaped according to these projects.
In the assembly booklet prepared for the assembly teams, GRC Precasts are provided to be constructed by means of specially designed anchors for the concrete constructions of the building.
The whole process is monitored by the project architect.
Can the scaffold be used on the facade when assembling ?
Different types of scaffolding are used in the assembly. The scaffold must be well-maintained and the scaffold type must be approved by the OHS experts.
What do you fill the joint gaps with ?
Special products with high UV resistance, high adhesion performance and elastic properties are used for joint gaps.
QUALITY
Are your quality certificates complete, what certificates do you have ?
Fiberton works with the principle of absolute quality. Fiberton facilities have TSE qualification certificate. Fiberton is one of the few manufacturers with TS 12467 quality certificate for its products. Fiberton is a member of GRCA, which includes GRCA producers all over the world. Fiberton products have CE mark. Also, it has ISO 9001:2015 quality management systems, ISO 14001:2015 environmental management systems and ISO 18001:2007 occupational health and safety management systems certificates.
What is your guarantee period ?
Our guarantee period is 24 months.
What do you do in case of damage and maintenance after the guarantee period ?
GRC is the only product that can be repaired among façade products. These repairs are done by our company’s maintenance team with charge. We also provide surface cleaning and sealant repairs with charge. Please get a price offer.
Is the material cleanable? How is it cleaned ?
GRC Precasts can be contaminated, as is the case for any outdoor product. Cleaning is very simple. Apply soft soap added compressed water to the surface and then clean with tools such as brush and sponges. Stubborn contamination that is deeply penetrated to the body is cleaned with special chemical cleaning products.
Can GRC Precasts be painted ?
It can be painted with any exterior paint after the primer application in suitable properties.
Can GRC Precasts be produced in color ?
GRC Precasts can be produced in color. Colored production with high UV resistance pigments is possible. But our suggestion is to use pastel colors. There may be a number of problems in dark colors. It is recommended to paint externally in case of demand for dark colors.
What is the weight of the material ?
GRC Concrete weighs 2000 kg / m3. GRC Precasts can be produced up to 10 mm thin due to the use of fiber instead of steel for reinforcement. GRC precast thickness is around 15 mm in mass production by taking into consideration the requirements such as texture and shape. And this is 2000*0,015 mm=30 kg/m2. This calculation does not include steel carriers and anchors that will result according to static calculations.
Is this material water repellent ?
GRC Precasts are seriously water repellent. The GRC Precasts, which comply with the standards, are waterproof.
They say the material cracks after a while, and water leaks into the façade, is that true ?
Products produced in accordance with standards do not crack. However, widespread cracking is observed in case of use of fibers of class C or other grades to reduce costs instead of AR-Glass fiber which should be used. Due to the fine castings of GRC Precasts, the production process must be monitored very precisely. GRC Precasts must be manufactured in a factory environment. Such structural problems are commonly observed in products produced in the construction sites. Cracking may also occur in products that do not have sufficient curing. Therefore, the production environment of the GRC Precasts and the suitability of the raw materials used by the manufacturer are of vital importance. Our suggestion would be to prefer TSE certified products.
How often do you need to perform maintenance after installation ?
GRC Precast products are highly hardy. In aging tests, 1 mm tissue loss was observed in 50 years. GRC Precasts produced in accordance with standards will not have any structural cracks. The products do not require maintenance in their original form. However, the sealant applied to the joint gaps or paints applied to the surface can be repaired or renewed according to the recommendations of the manufacturers. In addition, it is appropriate to perform cleaning at certain intervals against surface contamination.
